Bhumiamlaki:
Used in Liver disorders and Hepatitis B Virus.
It pacifies Kapha and Pitta doshas.
It acts as an appetiser, digestant, mild laxative. Modern
research reveals that Phyllanthus niruri is useful in Viral
hepatitis B1,2. It has a specific action on Pitta dosha, hence is
very useful in blood disorder-Raktapitta. It also
alleviates toxins.
Punarnava:
Used in Liver diseases and as diuretic .
It balances all doshas (vata,
pitta and kapha) in the body.
Take 10 gm
of punarnava root and boil it in a glass of water. After
filtering it add a pinch of dry ginger powder into it.
Taking it once a day is an excellent home remedy for
non-specific odema of the body. While increasing the
output of urine it also improves the functioning of body
metabolism.
Being a
good liver stimulant, fresh punarnava leaves are used by
rural folks to cure viral jaundice. However, its juice can
also be used along with any other therapy while treating
various other liver disorders.
Kakmachi:
Used in Viral
Hepatitis and as an adjuvant with hepototoxic drugs.
Solanum nigrum is
most effective for liver disorders such as chronic enlargement of
the liver and associated symptoms, eg. haemoptesis (blood from the
mouth, mucoid stools, and other skin manifestations). The juice of
the plant can be taken for this.
Kutaki:
Used in acute
Viral Hepatitis and epidemic Jaundice.
The standard ayurvedic REFERENCES
describe its use- fullness as a laxative, liver-stimulant, improving
lactation, appetite stimulant, febrifuge and as beneficial in
bronchial asthma(21). The plant and its formulations are widely used
in therapy of epidemic jaundice. Clinical studies including
double-blind trials have been carried out with the root powder of
the plant in patients with viral hepatitis with significant
improvement in symptoms like anorexia, nausea and vomiting.
Ghritkumari:
Used in Jaundice due
to viral hepatitis.
The herb stimulates the liver and is useful in liver and spleen
