Bhumiamlaki:
Used in Liver disorders and Hepatitis B Virus.
It pacifies Kapha and Pitta doshas.
It acts as an appetiser, digestant, mild laxative. Modern
research reveals that Phyllanthus niruri is useful in Viral
hepatitis B1,2. It has a specific action on Pitta dosha,
hence is very useful in blood disorder-Raktapitta. It also
alleviates toxins.
Punarnava:
Used in Liver diseases and as diuretic .
It balances all doshas (vata, pitta and kapha) in the body.
Take 10 gm of punarnava root and boil it in a glass of
water. After filtering it add a pinch of dry ginger powder
into it. Taking it once a day is an excellent home remedy
for non-specific odema of the body. While increasing the
output of urine it also improves the functioning of body
metabolism.
Being a good liver stimulant, fresh punarnava leaves are
used by rural folks to cure viral jaundice. However, its
juice can also be used along with any other therapy while
treating various other liver disorders.
Kakmachi:
Used in Viral Hepatitis and as an adjuvant with hepototoxic
drugs.
Solanum nigrum is most effective for liver disorders such as
chronic enlargement of the liver and associated symptoms, eg.
haemoptesis (blood from the mouth, mucoid stools, and other
skin manifestations). The juice of the plant can be taken
for this.
Kutaki:
Used in acute Viral Hepatitis and epidemic Jaundice.
The standard ayurvedic REFERENCES describe its use- fullness
as a laxative, liver-stimulant, improving lactation,
appetite stimulant, febrifuge and as beneficial in bronchial
asthma(21). The plant and its formulations are widely used
in therapy of epidemic jaundice. Clinical studies including
double-blind trials have been carried out with the root
powder of the plant in patients with viral hepatitis with
significant improvement in symptoms like anorexia, nausea
and vomiting.
Ghritkumari:
Used in Jaundice due to viral hepatitis.
The herb stimulates the liver and is useful in liver and
spleen disorders. It can be used in jaundice and enlargement
of liver. The pulp of one leaf should be administered with
black salt and ginger every morning for 10 days in the
treatment of such disorders
