Hyperacidity
It is a term applied for excessive secretion
of hydrochloric acid in the stomach. There are several juices
produced by our stomach to digest the foods. HCL is necessary to
breakdown the food particles in their minute form. Gastrin is
the hormone responsible for stimulation of acid secretion,
whereas somatostatin suppresses acid secretion in the stomach.
The excessive secretion of acid in the stomach leads to
formation of ulcer.
